When you become a Mama, a huge amount of things change that impact your entire life. It’s a time of adapting and growing and experiencing new and different things.

Some of these physical, emotional & mental changes might be expected but others may not. Often the change in relationships, libido and energy can be a surprise. You may experience sex differently due to physical changes from giving birth, you may not have energy or desire when it comes to intimacy, you may feel like there’s a shift. It might feel different, but different doesn’t mean it’s broken or that you’re broken.

Things to think about:

– Understanding your birth story can be really helpful in knowing what your body experienced during pregnancy/child birth.

– If you have pain during sex this could indicate something going on with your pelvic floor. It could be tight or there may be a prolapse – check in with a Women’s Health Physio, they can help.

– A trip to your GP and/or naturopath might help with libido & any hormonal imbalances that may be occuring. Hormonal imbalances may cause things like dryness in the vagina.

– Give yourself time and be super kind along the way. Navigating all the things of motherhood is a lot, this is something to move through as you feel ready.

You’ll find your vibe again.

Ps. Did you know – Our superficial pelvic floor is essential for Orgasm. Mmmhmmm. Pelvic floor is pretty important.
