Mama, there is beauty in our differences, we were never meant to be the same.

I was doing something the other day and I thought. “I bet this is nothing new for most mums, I bet most mums have been doing this better than I have forever.”

Then I thought💡

But I’m not most mums. I’m me. And you are you. And that Mum is that Mum. And we’ve all lived different lives and love to do different things.

The beauty in our differences, is that we can share our stories, learn from and be inspired by each other – we were never meant to be the same.

Each Mum is uniquely placed to offer her gifts to the world because of her different lived experiences & passions. Those differences allow us support each other in ways that wouldn’t be possible if we were all the same.

‘Most’ Mums led me into comparison quickly. Which can drive a ‘me and them’ idea. It was me on one island and every other mum on the other island. That can feel lonely. As Mamas, the last thing we need to feel is lonely.

I wonder if ‘Each’ Mum may be more helpful. Because it breathes life into our individual stories and fuels connection, community & support.

🙋‍♀️ Hands up if you find yourself subtly (or not so subtly) comparing yourself to another Mama?

The great thing is, if we can start identifying & reframing things, we can stop ourselves from heading into the comparison trap, take a load off ourselves & each other and be the Mums WE were meant to be.

Each Mum is needed. We were never meant to be the same. That is a beautiful thing. 💥💃🤸‍♀️
